ANALYZE OF ONE CHARACTER
The Perks of Being A Wallflower
by Stephen Chbosky
Number of pages: 230
Characters: Charlie, anonymous friend, Michael, his family, his aunt Helen, Professor of Literature Bill, and his Friends (Sam, Patrick and Mary Elizabeth,)
This novel was written by Stephen Chbosky in the form of letters sent by the protagonist named Charlie to an anonymous friend who his identity is never revealed , through letters written Charlie tells her story from the suicide of his friend Michael and how difficult it is for him to enter school without having a friend who can deal with the problems that passes a 15 year old boy .
Regarding the positive features of the personality of Charlie I can say that is kind hearted , seeks the welfare of the people around you , it is highly reflective and is an extremely honest guy thing sometimes brings problems as to what negative personality is naive , shy, insecure and unable to relate to some people guy .
The problem presented is that the protagonist has trouble socializing at school , however meets two of her best friends Sam and Patrick who are completely different to him , these two characters are outgoing and cheerful and are complicit in exciting situations , but other also sad and even traumatic occasions in letters sent Charlie evolution having in their personal life and how you view your environment , one of the problems found in the outcome of the story is shown the alleged violation suffered by his beloved aunt Helen .
The relationship with other people is difficult, as I said before is Charlie is a teenager who has trouble socializing , but its taste for literature does have a very close relationship with his young master Bill who becomes his adviser staff and even a friend you trust a lot; Patrick then meet in a football game american new friend Charlie he is an eccentric person , who did not trouble to relate to new people, Patrick introduces him to his sister Sam who is also very sociable and also befriends them will fully open the doors to the protagonist because they feel free , " infinity " as they say , and even dare to do new and exciting things , Charlie evolves from much relate to these guys.
I believe that Charlie 's personality has a lot to do with the violation suffered by his Aunt Helen , he does not remember the action itself , and in fact his aunt described fondly as the best person in the world that has many qualities but for the cards shows a lot of insecurity , talks about his fears, Charlie falls in the end realized that this is the reason why it feels so wrong and so acts .
The solution given to the problem is receiving therapy by specialists from being hospitalized for a while, now reports that he is happy to live so much in high school with Sam and Patrick .
I feel identified with Charlie in many things like be a very insecure person and have difficulty socializing , at first I show shy with new people but when I go into trust I can do some other crazy as when Charlie is with her friends.
